Dr. J Converse

The Pro Leather debuted in 1976, at a time when the game needed a vibe. Along came some guys with short shorts, tall socks, big hair and a new way to play basketball (Dr. J). They carried the game through one of its most crucial transitions, and they did so in the Pro Leather. In ’82, the sneaker earned the nickname “Buzzer Beaters” for its part in the last-minute college championship win. They retail for $75.
